ASSEM stands for "Association des Français Self-Employed."

What is ASSEM?
We are an association for the benefit of self-employed French Nationals, working in Britain.

What are our "Raisons d'être"?

• To liaise with French authorities concerning social issues such as state pensions, benefits, taxes, ... Due to the fact that under French legislation, self-employement does not exist as such, our members experience difficulties in dealings with the French authorities.
• To welcome French nationals keen to provide their services on a self employed basis in Britain, as well as to provide them with advice and information.
• To take part in initiatives launched by various French organisations regarding Francophonie, Europe, Culture... France being usually generous in subsidising every sort of activities in these areas, our members consider their views should be of some interest and be taken into account.

What ASSEM is not: A union, A business.
